Are my images uploaded?
No. Images are compressed on your device, inside your browser, and never sent to a server.
How much smaller will my images get?
It depends on the image. Photos saved as JPG or WebP at 70–80% quality are often 50–80% smaller with little visible difference. PNG is optimized without losing any detail, so the savings there are smaller.
Will compression reduce the quality?
For JPG, WebP and AVIF you control the trade-off with the quality slider. PNG is optimized losslessly, so its pixels stay exactly the same.
Can I resize images at the same time?
Yes. Set a maximum width or height and larger images are scaled down to fit, keeping their proportions. Smaller images are left as they are.
Is metadata such as GPS location removed?
Yes. Compressed files don't include EXIF metadata like camera details or location. The orientation is applied to the pixels so photos stay the right way up.
