JSON to CSV
Convert JSON to CSV for Excel or Google Sheets, with nested objects flattened into columns. Or convert CSV to JSON. No uploads.
Runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is uploaded
About JSON to CSV
Paste a JSON array, or an API response like {"data": [...]}, and get a CSV file you can open in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets. Each object becomes a row, and nested objects become columns such as address.city.
Choose commas, semicolons (common for Excel in Europe) or tabs, and turn on the Excel option if accents look wrong after opening the file. Everything happens in your browser, so your data is never uploaded.
How to use JSON to CSV
- 1Paste JSON or open a .json file.
- 2Pick the delimiter and whether to flatten nested objects.
- 3Check the preview, then copy or download the CSV.
Frequently asked questions
Is my data uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, so your JSON or CSV never leaves your device.
How are nested objects and arrays handled?
Nested objects become dotted columns, such as address.city. Arrays are written into one cell as JSON text, for example ["a","b"], so no data is lost. Turn off flattening to keep nested objects as JSON text too.
Why do accents look wrong when I open the CSV in Excel?
Older versions of Excel don't assume UTF-8. Turn on “For Excel” before downloading: it adds a marker that tells Excel the file is UTF-8.
Should I use commas or semicolons?
Commas are the standard. If your Excel uses commas for decimals, as in much of Europe, choose semicolons so the columns open correctly.
Can I convert CSV back to JSON?
Yes. Switch to CSV → JSON: the header row becomes the keys, and numbers and true/false are detected for you.
